I started out as a tropical fish aquarium hobbyist at a very young age. My father opened up his own tropical fish store in the mid 1980’s where he allowed me to go when he worked at his store. My first water pets were red ear slider turtles, then fire belly newts, and finally tropical fish. Soon saltwater fish captured my attention, and wet pets became a passion of mine.

I have a Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting. I practiced accounting as an auditor for near 7 years before deciding to do something that made me truly happy, my hobby. I was a Specialty Manager at Petsmart (fish, animals and reptile dept.) before opening my own business in 2004, It’s A Fish Thing, LLC.

Now I share and educate my hobby with others who have wet pets or have interest in having wet pets.
